Call for Abstract Submissions to the SMALP-23 Conference
The abstract submission portal is now open!
Scope: SMALP-23 is the inaugural International Conference that will bring together the leading international scientists investigating this new concept using biochemistry., biophysics, spectroscopy, chemical biology, polymer chemistry, advanced imaging, & cell biology. Examining the composition, assembly, dynamics, and atomic structures of native membrane particles remains technically challenging. This convergence of approaches will move biology from a postgenomic era to a more integrated understanding of how this fundamental unit of membrane function can mediate signal transduction, molecular transport, energy transduction, & protein/lipid trafficking.
Pledge: Like a Gordon Conference, the SMALP-23 Scientific Committee seeks to provide a collaborative, inclusive, and engaging environment for participants. To encourage open communication, each conference member agrees that any information presented at a SMALP-23, whether in a formal talk, poster session, or discussion, is private communication from the individual contributing and is given with the restriction that such information is not for public use. Before disseminating any information presented at this conference via publication or presentation, approval of the contributing member must first be obtained.
Guidelines: SMALP-23 presentation formats will include three oral formats (Keynote (45 min), Invited Speakers (30 min), and Selected Speakers (15 min) and a poster session. Please allow a minimum of 5 mins for Q &A following your talk. Those submitting abstracts will indicate a preferred format (oral or poster ) during submission, but the selected format cannot be guaranteed in the attempt to create a well-balanced conference program. Our goal is to have all presentations delivered in-person; however, we may allow virtual presentations only in rare cases.
Abstracts must be uploaded via the SMALP-23 Abstract Submission Portal. Please adhere to the following guidelines when submitting your abstract. Abstracts that do not follow the guidelines may not be considered.
