The UT Symposium is a virtual, two-day event with sessions taking place on April 7 and April 21, 2022. The Symposium will bring together faculty, staff, and administrators from the University of Tennessee campuses. This year’s theme is One UT: Making an Impact and will build on an earlier webinar series theme of high impact practices in online and hybrid courses to include online practices that impact and support various aspects of student success and faculty wellness: https://www.utm.edu/utsymposium/
The Symposium is excited to welcome Dr. David Patterson, Cooper-Herron Endowed Professor in Mental Health Research and Practice, Director of KnoxHMIS in the College of Social Work at UT, Knoxville, and Qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Teacher.
Dr. Patterson’s plenary session, “Cultivating Well-Being in Challenging Times,” begins at 10am EDT on April 7, and will focus on developing skills and practices to foster well-being in these turbulent times. In the session, Dr. Patterson will weave together a brief review of what stress is with ways to address it in the present as well as over time. Session participants will be introduced to a few brief mindfulness and well-being practices and given resources for future practice and use.
Please fill in your contact details, select Virtual Attendee Registration and then Next to sign up. Registering once allows you to attend sessions on both days (April 7 and April 21).
